“Between Stimulus and Response, there is a space. In that space lies our freedom and our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our happiness.”

“Viktor E. Frankl”

Aloha!

My name is Faryal Michaud.

I am a Board Certified Palliative Care physician, a mindfulness teacher, and a certified professional life coach living in the beautiful state of Hawaii. I have two strong minded and kind hearted teenage daughters. I am married to a wonderful man who enjoys the ocean and spending time with the three of us. He also happens to be a Radiation Oncologist. A cancer specialist doctor.

We think and talk about death and dying a lot. Not in a bad way. But, in a way to enjoy every minute of our lives. To have gratitude and to not take anything or anyone for granted.

Then, I turned 50 years old in the 2020 Pandemic: Mid life crisis in the middle of the biggest world health crisis.

We are all isolated in our own ways. I saw patients dying alone in the hospital rooms. Having end of life discussions virtually with people who felt they had not lived their lives fully yet. Health care workers working exhausting hours scared of contracting COVID and infecting their own family members.

Scary times we live in for sure. From all of that came a desire to do more.

I wanted to make a larger impact.

By normalizing conversations about living your best life. Normalizing conversations surrounding end of life.

So I created a one woman show: a podcast called Write Your Last Chapter.

And I put together a physician FaceBook support group that rapidly grew into thousand plus members called Physicians Living Intentionally (you may ask to join if you are a physician). A place for us to refocus to remember what matters most. I transferred some of those writings into the Blog you see here for all to enjoy.

The more I learned about what Life Coaches do, I realized that is what I do in Palliative care medicine: Except uphill. Way uphill.

I practiced what I preach and left a job that was no longer adding value to my life or the world around me and started practicing medicine ON MY OWN TERMS.

Now, I am a certified Life Coach providing coaching for seriously ill patients as a case by case basis all throughout the world, as well as for women physicians to live their most intentional life ever: Starting TODAY.

So happy you stopped by. I truly hope what I am trying to share with you can leave a positive impact directly on your life.

Welcome!
